WESLACO – Valley Grande Manor Nursing & Rehabilitation Center celebrated National Nurses Week, May 6-12, with numerous events that highlight the work these dedicated professional do on a daily basis to ensure proper care and respect for patients and their families.
“We are fortunate to have a dedicated and long-term staff of nursing professionals here at Valley Grande Manor,” said Bill Lowe, administrator. “These nurses are on the front lines dealing with patients and their families during difficult times of convalescence and rehabilitation. We are all proud of the work they do and it is important to recognize their service during this week and every day.”
Sponsored by the American Nurses Association (ANA), this year’s theme is “Nursing: the Balance of Mind, Body, and Spirit.” The ANA has designated 2017 as “The Year of the Healthy Nurse,” with programs set up to help nurses manage compassion fatigue, moral distress, and burnout.
